Job Description
  1. DRIVER LOADER

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Transport personnel, equipment, and materials within and around the mining site.
  • Ensure safe pickup and drop-off of passengers to designated areas.
  • Operate various types of vehicles (light vehicles, haul trucks, water carts, etc.) safely and in accordance with mine regulations.
  • Perform duties in compliance with all traffic and safety rules on-site.
  • Conduct daily pre-start inspections on vehicles to ensure they are safe and roadworthy.
  • Report any mechanical issues or defects to maintenance immediately.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance reports.
  • Complete shift reports and handover logs when required.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including use of PPE.
  • Attend safety briefings, toolbox talks, and training sessions.
  • Assist in other site duties when required, including helping with loading/unloading, site clean-up, or guiding heavy equipment.
  • Avoid contamination or spillage of fuel, chemicals, or other substances.

  • Maintain clear communication with dispatch, supervisors, and other team members via radio or mine communication systems.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • G 12 certificate
  • 3 years demonstrated experience

  1. RAW MATERIAL SAMPLE TESTER

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collect raw material samples from various locations (e.g., stockpiles, conveyor belts, trucks, or silos) following established sampling procedures.
  • Ensure samples are representative and properly labeled for traceability.
  • Prepare samples for laboratory testing by drying, crushing, grinding, or splitting, depending on material type.
  • Use appropriate equipment and maintain cleanliness to avoid contamination.
  • Perform basic tests such as moisture content, particle size distribution, density, and other physical or chemical properties using standard methods.
  • Operate laboratory instruments like balances, ovens, sieves, and pH meters accurately.
  • Record test results clearly and accurately in logbooks, spreadsheets, or laboratory management systems.
  • Report deviations or unusual results to the supervisor or quality control team.
  • Ensure all testing equipment is clean, calibrated, and in good working condition.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety issues promptly.
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE while handling samples or chemicals.
  • Dispose of waste materials and chemicals in accordance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Maintain proper documentation of sample chain-of-custody and testing records.
  • Assist in auditing processes and comply with internal and external quality standards.
  • Liaise with production, lab, and quality assurance teams to ensure timely and accurate sample testing.
  • Respond to urgent sample testing requests when required.

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • G 12 certificate
  • Degree in Laboratory/ Chemistry or related
  • 1/2 years demonstrated experience in a the same field
  • Knowledge of different test samples
  • Ability to manage a team.
  • Good communication and presentation skills

 

  1. MECHANIC REPAIRER

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct routine inspections of mining equipment and machinery (e.g., loaders, trucks, drill rigs, conveyors).
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using diagnostic tools and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, braking systems, hydraulics, and other mechanical components.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance tasks according to scheduled service intervals to avoid breakdowns.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns in the field or underground, minimizing downtime.
  • Identify and replace faulty parts and ensure the machine is safely returned to service.
  • Document repairs, parts used, and maintenance activities in maintenance logs or digital systems.
  • Report recurring faults or serious mechanical issues to supervisors or engineering teams.
  • Identify needed replacement parts and assist in maintaining inventory of tools and spares.
  • Ensure proper use and storage of parts, tools, and workshop equipment.
  • Adhere to all mine health and safety regulations and use appropriate PPE at all times.
  • Ensure machinery is locked out/tagged out during repairs and maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain hand and power tools in clean, functional condition.
  • Calibrate and inspect tools and lifting equipment regularly.
  • Work closely with other mechanics, supervisors, and operators to coordinate repairs and prioritize tasks.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and shift handovers.
  • Perform light welding, cutting, or fabrication work as required for repair or reinforcement of parts and components.
  • Suggest improvements in equipment reliability or maintenance practices.
  • Stay updated with new repair techniques and mining technologies.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • G 12 certificate
  • Certificate/ Diploma in mechanics or related
  • Work experience will be an added advantage
  • Membership to the Zambia Institute of Engineering
  • Good communication skills
  1. ELECTRIAN
  • Install wiring systems, electrical panels, lighting, power outlets, and equipment according to plans and safety standards.
  • Read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to prevent failures.
  • Diagnose electrical faults using testing equipment and perform necessary repairs.
  • Ensure all work complies with electrical codes, standards, and mine safety regulations.
  • Use appropriate PPE and follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures during electrical maintenance.
  • Locate and rectify faults in electrical circuits, motors, switches, transformers, and control panels
  • Respond quickly to equipment malfunctions or breakdowns, especially in critical operations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and testing of electrical systems to ensure functionality and safety.
  • Document findings and recommend corrective actions if systems are non-compliant or at risk.
  • Work with motor control centers (MCCs), variable speed drives (VSDs), relays, and PLC systems.
  • Ensure smooth operation of electrical components that drive pumps, fans, conveyors, and other machinery.
  • Install and maintain industrial and emergency lighting systems both underground and on the surface.
  • Run, terminate, and secure electrical cables, conduits, and wiring systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of electrical repairs, installations, inspections, and inventory of electrical components.
  • Report any recurring issues or safety concerns to supervisors.
  • Be on-call or respond to after-hours electrical emergencies or power outages as required.
  • Coordinate with engineers, maintenance teams, and other departments to plan electrical work.
  • Attend safety meetings and contribute to risk assessments.
